Motorola SLVR L7 iSync driver

To all you desperate Motorola L7 "SLVR" users: iSync has just been updated by Apple to support your phone. Install the system update to 10.4.6 ("Software Update"), and it should work - at least according to Apple's change notes.

Hi,

the desperated Motorola SLVR L7 users are still really desperated: with mac os 10.4.6 update you may isync the phone via USB (its now recognized as L7 and not as L8 like before the update) but bluetooth is still NOT working:(

Or is there anybody who got it working via BT?

Posted by: Sebastian at April 5, 2006 11:09 PM

The word is "Desperate" - its very frustrating not to be able to sync between a mac and the SLVR L7 through USB.

Can you sync between a mac and a L6 over Bluetooth?

I just got a European ver. of the Motorola L7 but it doesn't work on a mac, there is anyone that could fix this problem?

I just got a L7 and works fine with MAC using USB. No luck with BlurTooth and iSYNC? Requires a modem script to dial out.

I got a SLVR L7 (Cingular) yesterday, after dumping the SE W600i. I can report that I CAN sync via bluetooth/iSync, and almost everything comes over - except the email addresses of my contacts, which is pretty frustrating. Everything else regarding contacts, as well as my iCal info syncs without a problem.

It wuld seem that non US (Asian or European) versions of the L6 and L7 don't seem to to work with isync - Any one know why?

Posted by: Damir at May 15, 2006 2:09 AM

Damir, I bought my phone in UK (from Virgin Mobile) and I have no problems iSyncing.
It is possible that the operator-specific Flex configuration may block some functions - but I would think that that's more a matter of putting mp3s on the phone etc.

how do you isync with the Motorola SLVR L7 with bluetooth

Posted by: Rainbow Nelson at May 23, 2006 3:55 PM

I'm running OS X 10.3.9 and iSync 1. This combo doesn't work well. I get phone numbers but the names are turned into numbers. However, I do have bluetooth up and running. I was able to sync my numbers with my Yahoo contacts. Of course, I can sync my Yahoo contacts with my computer. So, I'm happy. I'm currently still trying to get my phone modem to work. Somebody please post if you find the script and method.

But what I want to know is there anything I am going to miss out on not being able to have the Phone Tools App and is there anyway to get iTunes onto this L7 that by the way I bought in the Middle East in Oman?

Posted by: Mo at January 14, 2007 10:14 AM

I have also recently purchased L7 but from Cricket. Not able to use isync via usb but have been able to move contacts via bluetooth, one at a time. A special problem I have run into is that when I connect usb to my PB, nothing happens, but the usb port on my computer no longer works until I restart my computer. Any comment/solutions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

They fixed it with 10.4.9, I just tried it out and it worked perfect. All I had to to was remove it from iSync because it was registered as a USB device and then did Add New Device again. Works perfect!

How do I get the SLVR L7 driver?

Posted by: ajeet singh at July 18, 2007 2:16 PM

Praveen, I just got my SLVR L7c from Verizon. They've made it so that you can't transfer data such as contacts and calendars. Sure, for the cost of their accessories kit you can transfers songs, but not contacts. Ever. I so hate Verizon. And I'm returning this phone.
