Gold Coast I > |

Arrived in Australia. We're at the Gold Coast, which is about an hour south of Brisbane. This is taken in the Currumbin Sanctuary - a wildlife park near Burleigh Heads. |

This is a white stork -- "a common heron," said a biologist via e-mail. |

That's a Kingfisher, I believe... |

|

Dingos. While they remind me of dogs, Edson assured me that these are way too hungry to keep them as pets. Imagine you're walking your dingo and the little brat causes a massacre at Hungry Jack's nearby (Australian Burger King). |

Big Bird from Behind. |

Another cute Aussie animal. It's a wombat. |

OK, Australia fans. Here is your Koala. The guys spend most of their days sleeping. They're nocturnal animals, after all. |

Koalas love the smell and taste of Eucalyptus. |

Edson loves Koalas, too! |

This hungry buddy is not as cute, but definitely just as sleepy as the koalas. There are two types of crocodiles in Down Under: bigger ones (salt water crocs) and smaller ones. Can you eat both of them? |

Mr Kangaroo and Mr Reitter. |

pick, pick. |

Most Aussie animals seem to be sort of slow... |

... but some of them can attack quickly.... This is Australia's most poisonous snake. I know, it's a cruel way to measure this, but: one bite of this one could kill 100.000 mice. |

Lorikeet, a bit of milky water and David. |

Edson would always turn his head for a nice bird! |
